Gateway’s commitment to the health and safety of our employees underlies every action. Our goal is for our employees to arrive at work and go home safely, so we emphasize safety training and procedures in our operating areas. These measures include tailgate safety meetings where safety procedures are discussed. Most recently, we added Initial Safety training for all employees, which provides an awareness level of safety training specific to our industry. This training reminds employees to anticipate risk, to make workplace safety a priority, and to enforce a zero-incident mentality.

Gateway is highly involved with organizations that promote safety in our industry. The following are examples of our proud affiliations:

  • ISNet World (Member since 2004)
  • Veriforce & NCCER Operator Qualification Training and Evaluation
  • National Compliance Management Service
  • American Society of Safety Engineers
  • PEC Safeland Basic and Core Trainer

Safety is the highest priority for all of Gateway’s employees. Below is information about our safety director, and how best to contact him.

Daniel Highsmith

Gateway Safety Director

Daniel Highsmith serves as the Safety Director at Gateway since 2007. Daniel has his B.S. in Industrial Safety from The University of Central Oklahoma and has attained CSHO status since 2012. Daniel’s roles is to ensure Gateway performs all of our services in the safest manner possible.

“Safety is a learned behavior. You have to have the best initial training, but hands on training is the most effective training because it uses all the senses to affect learning. By continuing training in the field it helps identify hazardous situations before they become an incident.
