Field Service Technician

Position Summary:
The Field Service Technician will repair and diagnosis major components or remove/replace major components of various small vehicles, equipment, trucks and trailers. Expectations include the ability to diagnose and repair the following with no supervision: Clutches, PTO Systems, Electric Systems, Hydraulic/ Air Brake systems, Instruments and Gauges, and Preventive Maintenance Service. Travel to job sites and staying out of town for extended periods of time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of engines (gas and diesel), Power train to include differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTO’s and wheel ends, Electrical systems including starters and alternators, Steering systems, Electronics, Engine bolt on items such as turbos, fan clutches, injectors, cooling system etc., Brake systems including ABS, Suspension systems (spring and air).
  • Perform mechanical and general appearance reconditioning of equipment.
  • Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services on equipment.
  • Maintain work area appearance and safety
  • Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
  • Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
  • Adjust and replace brakes, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.
  • Raise trucks, vehicles, and heavy equipment parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices.
    Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications.
  • Specialize in repairing and troubleshooting of major components such as engine, transmissions and differentials, to include replacing complete assemblies, turbochargers, fuel system components etc.
  • Complete proper maintenance and repair documentation.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Must be able to pass DOT required Drug Test
  • Must have a valid driver’s license. Current Class A CDL license with air brake certification preferred, willingness to acquire CDL if you do not have one.
  • 2-4 years practical experience with heavy equipment, tractor trailer maintenance required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational/Technical or certification preferred.
  • Specialized training in the repair and replacement of vehicle components preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of shop tools required.
  • Basic communication skills.
  • Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions required .
  • Willingness to travel as necessary wherever Company projects are ongoing (temporary yards and job sites).
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Drafter I

This position is responsible for completing drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Microsoft Office applications. This position reports directly to the Drafting Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assisting L.S.’s and survey crews when needed (i.e. providing coordinates, station numbers, etc.)
• Daily use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Company Survey Data and Imagery
• Ability to problem solve basic AutoCAD problems
• Drafting of alignment sheets, landowner plats, permit profiles, boundary surveys, well location plats, mortgage inspections, writing centerline and metes and bounds descriptions as well as compressor and valve site plats with contours
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
• Knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D version 2012 or above
• Good interpersonal skills
• Must be detail oriented
• Proficiency in desktop applications (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• Ability to sit for long periods of time
• Must be able to pass required drug test

Experience:
• High school diploma or GED required
• 0 to 3 years of experience (surveying/drafting)
• Basic Knowledge of plot routines, plot drivers and ctb files

Labor Hand

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Direct pipe for welders and operators
• Pick up skids and other materials bracing the pipe
• Spot check for operators so they know what is around their machines
• Help grease heavy equipment to keep them running smoothly
• Bolt up pipes after they are welded together and prepare them for being placed in the ground
• Build wire fences to block off dangerous work areas
• Assist welders with grinding of welds and moving materials
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors

Registered Professional Land Surveyor

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage Field Crews in the collection and calculation of data
• Conducts legal and record research and analysis
• Field data collection
• Data processing of survey data, including evaluating accuracy and sufficiency ensuring compliance to applicable regulations
• Perform quality control checks of plats and drawings prepare by other technicians
• Participates in scheduling of jobs and crews
• Provide technical office support
• Work with field crews for continuing education and training

Qualifications:
• Must be a RPLS in Texas and New Mexico
• Must have 2-5 years of experience
• AutoCad drafting – version 2010 or above (preferred)
• Pipeline – Oil/Gas surveying experience

• Experience in the field conducting land surveys
• Must have Microsoft Office experience
• Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
• Excellent organizational skills

Job Requirements:
Suitable candidates must have an excellent driving record and must be able to pass a background check for employment and as part of project requirements. Schedule varies dependent upon client needs. Requires travel Monday-Friday and sometimes Saturday in and around Texas and Eastern New Mexico.

Survey Crew Chief

Job Description:

This position will work on a 2-3 person survey crew staking pipelines. You will be compiling information necessary to stake projects for construction, using engineering plans. Operate and manage land-information computer systems performing tasks such as storing data, making inquiries and producing plots and reports.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Adjust and operate survey/GPS instruments
• Compile notes
• Make sketches and enter data into the computer
• Lay out grids and determine controls
• Manage crew and report to RPLS

Qualifications:
• Must be willing to travel
• Valid Driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Pre-employment drug test and background check
• Be able to work overtime and weekends
• Ability to lift at least 50lbs
• Ability to be outside in all weather and terrain
• Experience with Trimble and/or Topcon GPS instruments

Experience:
• Minimum 2 years as a crew chief
• 4 years experience surveying
• 1-4 years practical knowledge and experience in mapping/civil field

Education:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Pipeline Welder

This position is responsible for fitting and welding the pipeline together so it can be placed into the ground. The welders directly report to the Foreman and must travel to the jobsites.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Install high pressure steel pipe and fittings, stopple, or related equipment on gas lines
• Repair and replace damaged steel pipe
• Construct guards for meters, valve sites, and regulator stations
• Repair equipment (machine buckets and etc.)
• Complete logs, reports, requisitions, and other records and communications as required
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors

• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must pass welding test per client requirements
• Must be willing to travel to jobsite

Welder’s Helper

This position is responsible for assisting the Welders and ensuring that the welds are made correctly. The Welder’s Helpers directly report to the Foreman and must travel to the jobsites.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist Welders in all facets of Pipe Welding
• Handle tools while Welder is working
• Drive truck after weld has been completed
• Hold wind and spark blocker while welds are being made
• General Labor duties as needed around the jobsite
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors
